Environment Latest Definition 2024
Environment
Introduction
Environment is a term derived from the Latin word 'Environ' that means 'to surround'. As per environment act,1986, environment included all the physical and biological surroundings of an organism along with their interactions.
Environment is thus defined as the sum total of water, air and land and the interrelati-onship that exist among them and with the human beings, other living organisms and materials.
SCOPE
Environment studio as a subject has a wide scope. It encompasses a larger number of areas and aspects, which may be summarized as follows:
- Natural resources - their conservation and management
- Ecological and biodiversity
- Environmental pollution and control
- Social issue in relations to development and environment
- Human population and environment
Important of environment
- For millions of years, nature provided us everything to live a batter life and start from cloths, food, lights, air to beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and forest.
- Human were served by the environment in several ways and are still using nature for various personal uses.
Forest and forest people
Forest are an important gift of nature. A larger area of land thickly covered with trees, bushes and creepers is called a forest. They grow naturally in areas where there is sufficient rainfall.
In India every green forest are mostly found in the rainy slopes of the western Ghats, the hills of north- east indea and in the Andaman and Nicobar Island. Beside, forest are also found in the Himalayan mountains and in the southern plateaus.
Important of forest
Forest perform many other important function
- They supply oxygen to breathe.
- They bring more rainfall.
- They provide soil erosion.
- They check pollution.
- They check floods
Save environment
- Environment means our surroundings
- The environment is being polluted and degraded due to the activities of human being.
- Thus, we needs to take action to save our environment
- At our home,we can try using as much to decrease noise pollution.
- We should reduce using cracker to reduce air pollution.
- We are not the only being living in our environment.
- There are animal ,trees and birds as well as insect.
World Environment Day
Environment day is important day for all of us. This days remind us to take care of our environment. But do we really. need this reminder. Do we really need a single day to celebrate to plant a number of trees so that to make peoples aware of the
harm that we all are causing to the environment unintentionally or rather I would say it intentionally. An interesting fact Earth is 4.5 billion years old and we humans are about old but look what we have done to it. We name ourselves homo sapsien meaning. but do we really act wisely we have domed ourselves only. Water bodies covered with plastic throwaways instead of aquatic specie, agressive cutting down of tree's for rapid urbanization
tonnes of species going extinct & it's no longer that our future generation will only see them on books, air filled with toxic gases of the food we eat is no more. organic now. Earth being the only planet with life, a perfect composition of heat, air, water & soil.
Nature doesn't need people, we people need nature to thrive. Harmony with nature is what oursustainable goal is or be prepared for a tsunami of throw away plastics, be prepared to step outside with a oxygen cylinder. at your back of to feed on man-made supplements. Our planet need it's wild space and spicies. everyone is a component in the global machine,
when all are in good health then only the planet run effortlessly smooth Biodiversity is equal to stability and stability is what we require. Our planet's alarm is going off, and it is now time to wake up and take actions. So lets join our hands together and make our planet a better place to live on.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
types of environment pollution
- air pollution
- water pollution
- soil pollution
- light pollution
- noise pollution
air pollution :
Air pollution is a common problem in our country and air pollution dengerous chemical for example carbon monoxide, hydro carbon etc. the produced by human activities such as the using of vehicles are produced by human activities as the vehicle which produce smoke causing the air pollution and factory activities such as the using vehicle which product the tires and fake animals skil which use fuels and machine that trigger the air pollution.
Plants can reduce the air pollution by produce the oxygen which is very importants and human body life to breath. Plant can also absorb the carbon dioxide by their leaves. Thay need the carbon dioxide. That is why thay absorb the carbon dioxide and course plants help us to reduce the air pollution. The second solution is that the government should be give clear rules for the industrys which use fule and machine causing the air pollution. The first rule is that industry should change the fuel and machine with the new one that is more ecofriendly for the environment.
water pollution:
water pollution occur when harmful substances offten chemical or contaminate a steam, river lake or other body of water and rendering it toxic to humans or the environment. the widespread problem of the water pollution is endanger our health. unsafe water pollution kills more people each year than war and all second forms of violence combined.
water pollution permeable to pollution. known as "universal solvent", water is able to dissolve more substances than any other liquid on earth.water Pollution Discharge of domestic industrial affluent wastes, leakage from water tanks, marine dumping, radio active waste and at deposition are major causes of water pollution. Heavy metals that disposed off and industrial waste can accumulate in lakes and river proving harmful to humans and animal. Philadelphia has Sewer system a combind that is one pipe is used to carry both sewage and storm water.
soil pollution:
soil pollution is defined as the presence of toxic chemical in the soil pollution in very high concentration to pose a risk to human health and the ecosystem or in simple word alteration in the natural soil due to the human activites is termed soil pollution. for example exposure to soil containing high concentration of benzene can increase the risk of soil pollution.all soil contain compounds that are harmful to human being and other living organisms.
the concentration of such substances in unpolluted soil is low that they do not pose any threat to surrounding but when the concentration such substances becomes high enough to cases damage to living organissm the soil is sad to be contaminated. Soil Contamination can occur because of humans activities or because of natural processes. mostly it is due to human activities. It occurs due to the different activities such as overuse of pesticide the soil will lose its fertility and the presence of excess chemicals will increase the acidity and alkalinity of soil and hence degrading the qualitys of the soil.
